Chelsea's Fieldtrip

I went with Chelsea on another fieldtrip. We went to Lowes and did the kids workshop thing they have there. All the kids thought it was so beyond cool that they got to actually hammer nails into wood. Chels HATED the goggles they had the kids wear. She liked the fieldtrip up to that point and was mad at the lady who made her wear them. I tried to get a picture of her wearing her gear before it started but she was so not in the mood.

So then I tried to get a picture with her to see if that would work. Ya not so much!

We then went to the park for playing and a picnic but I didnt get any pictures. THe bus driver was sick so he said he was going to leave and come back. My purse with my lunch and camera and everything in it was on the bus. So no pics, sorry!

Introducing....Roscoe

This is our new boy, Roscoe. Its a funny story on how we got him. While I was pregnant with Emma and getting ready to go to Arizona to watch my sisters kids while she was going to Europe for 2 weeks, Sol called me and said he had a suprise. Ya it was a puppy. Not very excited for it but it is what it is, Sol is a dog person for sure! So we had her up until this past Christmas time. We decided to give her to a new home for many reasons. Well, the kids were of course heartbroken and Sol wanted another male dog that he could take to work and train like our old one that got ran over.
We just moved into this apartment 2 months ago and Sol gets dog hungry like I get baby hungry. Everytime we see dogs on the side of the road for sale he has to stop and look, he looks online, etc. Well last Saturday we were meeting Adam and his kids for lunch and we passed a popular place where puppies are sold on the side of the road.
Sol is driving and freaks out! "I see BLUE PIT PUPPIES!" I tell him no, we are getting a kid instead and I am starving-NOT a good thing for a 10 week pregnant lady to be. So we go eat and afterward he stops and looks at the puppies. Even I am impressed and fall in love with one but I seriously dont want a dog especially while I am pregnant...
Well we got to talking and the guy we gave our old dog to couldnt keep her so he gave her to this guy who bred her and they were her puppies! Sol had to have one at that point. The guy was really nice and let us take him home for free as long as we brought him back and kept in touch so he could use him for studding when he gets older.
So, here is Roscoe. Sol takes him to work every day and even gets up with him at night so I have minimal responsiblity for him, thank goodness!

The Grand Ole Opry

Me and my baby after the show

Sol and I had the oportunity to go to the Grand Ole Opry last night for the first time. We have lived here for coming up on 5 years and have never been but always talk about how cool and fun it would be to actually get tickets and go. It was so much fun! Little Jimmy Dickens was the funniest, dirty old man ever. His jokes were hilarious, I love old mens jokes for some reason!Look at how really little he is and how big his guitar is on him! He took a bow at the end of his part and the guitar was taller than him while he was bent down!

Ricky Skaggs played a song then brought out his sisters and father in law, The Whites and he sat next to the father in law on the piano bench and kept poking his sides and tickling him while he was trying to play the piano!

Rascal Flatts did awesome! They were my very favorite of the night.

Sol and I decided that if we can find out when another big name is coming we would love to go back. There was so much old traditions and character in there it really was cool to see it all. When Sols parents come out when I have the baby we want to take them, we think they would love it!

Easter 2009....So Far

We got up early this morning and went to an Easter Egg Hunt that some friends put together. They said there were 580+ eggs. Yeah, it only took 8 minutes for the kids to find them all! They had a baby section set up for kids age 2 and under. So I set Emma up there and went to help the big girls and told Sol to supervise Emma. Well, she got kicked out of the baby section after people realized she was bigger and a better egg hunter than anyone thought!

Afterward we dyed Easter Eggs and I taught them how to Peel, Crack, And Eat them for our afternoon snack! They think they are pretty tricky now! I told them to go out on yucky clothes and this is what they came up with so I take NO responsibility for thier outfits! :)

Follow Up

We went and met the lady at her store as promised and she had a TON of our stuff. She had our Halloween Decorations I didnt know were left behind, 2 boxes of Christmas stuff that again, I had no idea were left behind. A TON of baby stuff and of course the scrapbooks.
As it turns out the lady and her mom even called the Church Headquarters library and tried to get in contact thru them.
Why?
She wrote me a note and gave it to us right when we got there. When they were little they had a fire and lost everything so they knew what it was like to loose sentimental stuff like that.
They even took a picture of us with them on thier little disposable camera.
I was so happy that these ladies took the time and energy and effort to track us down. After I got home I sat and re-read every scrapbook and got so choked up about some of the things I said to my girls in thier books and was so thankful that they were returned!

There Really Are Good People Out There

Last month when we moved out of our house in Springfield it was crazy as most moves are. Well, a box of books that had my scrapbooks and baby books that I made for the girls got left accidentally as well as most of the baby stuff in the unfinished bonus room. We went to get them but the new owners had already changed the locks so it was impossible to get them as we didnt know who the new owners were or how to contact them. I was totally, incredibly heartbroken.
I had spent so much time and energy (money too) on making the baby books for the girls. I had the ultrasounds pictueres, birth pictures, keepsakes, all that sentimental stuff in there and I was devastated at the thought of loosing them. All the rest of the other stuff could be replaced eventutually but the baby books was the main thing that I was upset about loosing. So I decided to just put a note on the door and and hoped that they called me back.
In the mean time I would stop by the house to see if I could catch them, ask the neighbors if they knew them yet, and hoped and prayed so hard that I would get a phone call. I was even giving myself the mother of all "its ok, its just stuff, you have some of the pics scanned in and the memory of all that stuff wont be forgotten and you can make another one" pep talks.
Well, today I have been busy doing the typical mom stuff. I get a phone call from my friend Whitney saying that her little brother Corbin just got a call from a lady saying she had some baby pictures that she wanted to get back to me. My heart sank-I was hoping it would be the books but I would take the pictures. So I called her back. No answer so I left a message. The second I hung up my brother in law Adam called. He got the same phone call Corbin did. I immediately called her back again and she answers this time.
Long story short, she said she has a bunch of my baby stuff, Christmas ornaments and even my baby books and wedding albums and all that that I made. She owns a shop kinda like Goodwill and a lady came in and donated a bunch of stuff. She said she didnt have the heart to put them out on the floor of the store. She found the numbers in one of the books I had while I was pregnant from one of the kids and had written down names and numbers of people for Sol to call when I went into the hospital/had the baby.
So, thanks to this wonderful lady whom I have never met yet I get to go down at 8:30 in the morning before her store opens up and get my books back! (I am excited to see what else of mine she has there, especially my baby stuff since number 4 is on its way but the books is the thing that I really, really want)
I was so emotional while talking to this lady I think I thanked her about a million times and even got choked up and started BAWLING when I called Sol and told him about it.
Even though the world we live in doesnt seem like its getting any better and is full of terrible people there really are good and decent people out there who want to make a difference and I am soo beyond thankful for ladies like this as well as answered prayers!
